Soldier charged with attempted murder
A soldier appeared in court yesterday charged with attempting to murder a colleague inside an Army base in the province.
Christopher Davies, 22, of the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, is accused of trying to kill Keith Burnell, 21, on Wednesday night at Shackleton barracks in Ballykelly, Co Londonderry.
He was remanded into military custody until 5 January. Guardsman Burnell, who was stabbed, is in a satisfactory condition in hospital.
