Soldier's wife killed by grenade

The estranged German wife of a British soldier was killed when a hand grenade exploded at their flat in Rheine, Osnabruck, north Germany. Phillip Eddowes, 29, from Norfolk, lost a hand and an eye in the blast. A guard is posted outside his hospital door and German police are investigating.
