Son tried to kill family GP

A man who blamed a GP for the death of his mother was jailed for life for his attempted murder yesterday. Dr Gerald Flack, 64, shot as he sat in his car, only survived because he pretended to be dead, Maidstone Crown Court was told.

Leslie Smith, 47, of Crundale, Kent, was convicted in January and had been remanded for reports.
