The pop star Whitney Houston has sung her way into the record books with her latest hit single, 'I Will Always Love You'. Yesterday it remained at the top of the UK charts for a ninth consecutive weeks, to beat the record of eight weeks by a female artist, notched up in 1954 by Doris Day with 'Secret Love'. The song, taken from Houston's film debut The Bodyguard, which also stars Kevin Costner, is top of the pops in several other countries.
