`Spy pilot' inquest
An inquest was opened and closed into the death of a U2 spy plane pilot who was killed on Tuesday when his plane crashed after take-off from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire for a mission over Bosnia. The investigation into the death of Captain David Hawkens, 35, has been handed over to the US Air Force, and the inquest will not be resumed unless there are specific instructions from the Home Secretary.
