Strangeways riot fugitive 'guilty'
ALAN LORD, a convicted murderer now on the run, was found guilty in his absence yesterday of plotting to injure police and prison officers during the 1990 Strangeways riot. Lord escaped from the cells at Manchester Crown Court 11 days ago. He will be sentenced later. Andrew Nelson was cleared of plotting to injure officers. The verdicts were the last to be returned after a five- month trial.
