Stream ran red

A waste firm that made a stream run red with blood was fined pounds 4,000 by magistrates. Cleansing Services, of Botley, Hampshire, injected abbattoir waste into a field beside the Honeypot stream near Sevenoaks, Kent. Analysis found the run-off to be five times more polluting than crude sewage.
