THE RAIL network faces paralysis tomorrow after talks over a pay and productivity deal broke down after just seven minutes, writes Barrie Clement.
Leaders of the RMT rail union meet today and are expected to press ahead with a 24-hour strike by 4,600 signal operators. Another 24-hour strike is planned for a week tomorrow.
The union rejected an offer of 2.5 per cent on pay and more talks on a productivity package.
