Britain suffered its worst summer smog of the year over the weekend, with concentrations of low-level ozone reaching double the air quality limit recommended by Government-appointed experts.
Today, a change in the weather and westerly winds were expected to disperse the pollution, formed from a combination of traffic fumes and strong sunlight. Air quality was already improving yesterday.
