This year's episode of Miss Marple, the BBC's regular Christmas murder mystery starring Joan Hickson, may be the last because the corporation has run out of Agatha Christie stories.

The Mirror Crack'd, to be screened on Sunday 27 December, is the final murder tale of the series and centres on a famous actress, a poisoned cocktail and a country house. Claire Bloom also has a starring role.
