A staff sergeant in the Territorial Army was fined pounds 800 after a crash that resulted in the death of four teenage cadets. Maidstone Crown Court was told that Andrew Morgan, 26, of Camberwell, south London, lost control of the minibus he was driving on the M20 and crashed into the central barrier, causing the rear doors to fly open and catapulting nine cadets into the path of following traffic. He was cleared of causing death by reckless driving, but was convicted of careless driving.
