English teachers and their colleagues in secondary schools are being asked by the biggest teachers' union whether they would support a boycott of national tests in English for 14-year-olds.
The National Union of Teachers is also asking English teachers whether they would vote in favour of strike action over the tests, and all secondary teachers whether they would vote for a strike if any member who refused to administer the tests were disciplined.
