Edwin Morgan was a lecturer in English at the University of Glasgow and retired as titular professor in 1980. His two most recent collections are published by Carcanet Selected Poems (1985) and Collected Poems (1990). This poem appears in Sweeping out the Dark published by Carcanet at pounds 8.95.
