Padraic Fiacc was born in 1924, and has been writing for almost 50 years. His earliest poems were published in the 1940s while he was studying for priesthood. He later abandoned his studies and returned to Ireland before re-emigrating to New York. This poem is from Ruined Pages Selected Poems (Blackstaff Press, pounds 7.99), a collection of poems from previously published works.
