John Wilkie was born in the Midlands in 1929 and now lives in the South-west, where he has worked as a playwright for regional theatres and radio. He started writing poetry in 1988, and since then has had poems published in the Tribune and literary magazines such as Outpost. Next year a collection of 15 poems written as a requiem for his daughter will be published in Envoi.
