Anne Stevenson was born in 1933 and educated in New England. In addition to 18 volumes of verse she has written biographies of the poets Elizabeth Bishop and Sylvia Plath. Selected Poems 1956-86 and The Other House are published by Oxford University Press at pounds 6.95 and pounds 5.95 respectively.
