Shiv K Kumar was born in 1921 and now lives in Hyderabad, India. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1988 for his last collection Trapfalls in the Sky published by Macmillan in 1986. This poem appears in the Poetry Review special Indian issue In Search of Kavita, published by The Poetry Society at pounds 4.50.
