Catherine Byron was born in Belfast in 1947, and specialised in Medieval Literature at Oxford. Since then she has been a freelance writer based in England. Her first poetry collection Settlements (Loxwood Stoneleigh), was published in 1985. This poem appears in her new collection The Fat-Hen Field Hospital published by Loxwood Stoneleigh at pounds 6.50.
