When Hugh Hefner flew to London in June for the opening of the first Playboy Club in Britain for more than 20 years, the event was picketed by feminists. But that hasn't put the octogenarian off the idea of expanding.
The American soft porn empire is in negotiations to open a Playboy Club in Manchester.
It would be the first time a Playboy Club has opened outside London since the early 1980s when Hefner sold all his UK clubs amid a backlash against the brand, which had become tired and associated with sleaze.
Buoyed by the successful opening of the club in Mayfair, Playboy is looking to open inside the Manchester 235 casino – owned by the UK operator that runs the London club.
