Two new cases of foot-and-mouth disease were confirmed today and another suspected outbreak on Dartmoor is being investigated.

Those confirmed are at farms in Cumbria, a county already heavily hit by the outbreak.

They are being linked to existing outbreaks in the Longtown area and bring the national total to 76.

The case under suspicion is at a farm in Widecombe in the Moor close to Dunn Bridge Farm, Two Bridges, where an outbreak was confirmed on Sunday.
