Three people are believed to be trapped after a three-story building collapsed in White Hart Lane, north London.

Four people including a baby were taken to hospital after the accident, which happened at 8.30am today. None was thought to be seriously injured. The baby was rescued from an upper floor of the building by firefighters using a hydraulic platform.

Firefighters are using thermal imaging equipment to hunt for anyone else who may be trapped in the rubble at the site near the Tottenham Hotspur football ground.

Builders were believed to have been carrying out work on two shops below the flat when the accident happened.

Tony Agar of the London Fire Brigade, said that the front part of the building had collapsed. "At the moment we are seeing if we can find any more casualties" he said.
