Tower Bridge assault: CCTV shows gang of 10 to 12 men attacking 29-year-old victim

City of London Police have released CCTV of a "vicious, cowardly and unprovoked attack" on a man by a gang of between ten and 12 in Tower Bridge.

Video shows the 29-year-old victim walking near the London landmark at 10pm on Sunday 31 May when he is first punched from behind by two men. He is then swarmed by ten to twelve individuals who repeatedly kick and punch the man, forcing him to the ground.

After about a minute, the gang retreat. Two among the gang are seen riding TfL bikes.

Police describe the suspects as Asian men in their late teens or early 20s, all with East London accents. Most were dressed in hoodies, jackets and tracksuit bottoms.

PC Oliver Gent of City of London Police said, "The victim suffered several blows to the head and body and was lucky to walk away with only cuts and bruises.

"It is paramount that we catch those responsible as the group’s next victim might end up with very serious injuries."
