MRS AVRIL Dongworth, chief executive at Luton and Dunstable Trust Hospital in Bedfordshire, resigned after a consultant radiologist discovered a tap on his office phone. It was installed by private detectives investigating allegations of misconduct for which two women and the consultant had been suspended and later reinstated.
