TWO MEN being questioned by detectives after a man was shot when a concert ended in violence were released on bail, police said last night.

The 28-year-old victim was 'serious but stable' in hospital after being shot in the back and leg at the Hammersmith Palais, west London. Earlier, 12 people were arrested for public order offences at the ragga concert when a crowd of about 5,000 tried to get in, Scotland Yard said.

Police said the injured man, from Harlesden, north-west London, was among an an audience of about 3,000 when the shooting occurred just before 2am. Although 2,000 tickets were sold for the show, police were called when thousands of people without tickets refused to leave and a crush developed outside the premises. Five officers were injured when the crowd pelted them with bricks, bottles and cannisters of CS gas.
