Thames Valley detectives were last night investigating the background to the attempted murder of a man in Oxford, which is believed to have an underworld link. Kingsley Sam, of Oxford, who was shot in the back and shoulder, was said to be 'seriously ill' in the city's John Radcliffe Hospital.
