A vandal is secretly tearing pages from books for sale in Cardiff and replacing them on the shelves.

Unsuspecting customers do not discover the books have been ruined until they reach the damaged page. Half a page of text is torn from each book, always hardback editions of anything from novels to manuals.

Book store owners say the vandal has been targeting their shops for six months. But they are baffled by the motive.
