Victorian girl's grand resting place in historic cemetery restored

A newly-restored sculpture inside the grandest occupied monument at Highgate Cemetery, north London - a mausoleum built in 1878 by Julius Beer, owner of the Observer, for his daughter Ada, of whom the girl in the sculpture is thought to be a likeness. The mausoleum, built for pounds 5,000, is worth pounds 2.75m today, and has taken three months to restore at a cost of pounds 42,000
