All but eight of the 32 families living at Rhoscrowther, a west Wales village close to a Texaco oil refinery, have accepted the company's offer to buy their homes to enable them to resettle elsewhere. Texaco will spend an estimated pounds 2m on the deal. Villagers petitioned the company after an explosion at the plant injured 18 workmen.
