Wiper dispute

A car windscreen washer who attacked two police officers and pulled the wipers from a car after the motorist refused to have the screen washed was given one year's probation by Marlborough Street magistrates. Rosella Smith, 19, of Highgate, north London, who denied assault, was also ordered to pay pounds 30 compensation to each officer.
