A freelance air hostess, Kathleen Denham, was yesterday cleared of trying to claim more than pounds 1m in insurance on her ex-husband's faked death. Ms Denham, 38, of Feltham, west London, denied theft of pounds 15,000 from Cornhill Insurance and five charges of attempting to obtain cash from insurance companies. He took out 12 life insurance policies, Isleworth Crown Court was told. Cornhill paid out on one, but other companies refused. She said she had been forced to continue with the claims because he had made threats on her life.
