A woman condemned as a 'fraud and a charlatan' over false claims that a wonder drug could cure Aids and cancer was jailed for six months at Isleworth Crown Court, west London.

Elizabeth Marsh, 49, whose promotion of the drug, known as CH6 or Cancell, was revealed in the Independent on Sunday two years ago, suffered a nervous breakdown at the end of her trial in April.

Marsh, of Northolt, Middlesex, who styled herself as a doctor though she had no medical qualifications, had denied issuing a misleading advertisement in a booklet, Cancer and Aids: is there any hope left for us?
