Eleanor Hibbert, the novelist better known as Jean Plaidy, Victoria Holt and Phillipa Carr, left more than pounds 8.5m in her will. Hibbert, who wrote more than 200 historical romances in her career under 14 noms de plume, died in her 80s earlier this year.
