From implanted tomato seeds to multiple sweetie wrappers, dentists and dental nurses have revealed the most extraordinary things they have found on the job.

After surveying people working in the UK dentistry industry, Cliniccompare.co.uk rounded up some of the best responses.

The NHS recommends brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. It recommends a healthy lifestyle, including eating well, not smoking and limiting your alcohol intake. It also stresses the importance of having regular check-ups.

DIY dentistry is not recommended.
