Video that shows 'World's Fastest Archer' complete breathtaking challenges goes viral
Speed archer Lars Andersen's latest video received 15 million views in just three days

A video showing a Danish speed archer completing a number of seemingly impossible tasks with his specially designed bow and arrow has gone viral.
The video titled “Reinventing the Fastest Forgotten Archery” shows Lars Andersen, the self-proclaimed “fastest archer in the world”, carrying out a number of breath-taking challenges. It has been watched by over 15 million people since it was uploaded on YouTube on Friday.
In the compilation, Andersen is seen performing a variety of impressive shots, including hitting a floating ping pong ball while running; catching and shooting the same arrow in one movement; and splitting an arrow in two as it travels towards him.
According to Andersen, he came to archery in his thirties and learned his skills by studying historical writings on ancient archery techniques and putting in thousands of hours of practice.
He now claims to be the fastest archer in the world, shooting three arrows in 0.6 seconds.
As well as capturing his impressive feats, the video also aims to dispel many of the myths around archery that Hollywood films have led us to believe to be true about archers in the past.
For example, the video shows that carrying a quiver, as seen in films like Robin Hood and Lord of The Rings, is impractical and that it was much more likely that ancient archers carried their arrows in their hands to facilitate faster shooting.
Speaking to press on the release of his video, Andersen said: "Many people have accused me of being fake or have theories on how there's cheating involved. I've always found it fascinating how human it is, to want to disbelieve anything that goes against our world view – even when it's about something as relatively neutral as archery."
