Video: Watch crafty pigeon cleverly outsmart hungry cat

In a game of 'cat and pigeon', the pigeon came out victorious

Pigeons are not usually regarded as the animal kingdom’s cleverest creatures.

However, one pigeon proved that he was a little bit craftier than the cat that wanted him for lunch, when he was able to outsmart the feline and avoid attack.

In the hilarious video uploaded onto Youtube on Friday, the sneaky moggy is captured stalking the pigeon as it perches on a ledge.

Unable to turn around due to the ledge being so narrow, the cat continues to pursue the pigeon by walking backwards.

This leads to an amusing exchange, in which the cat scuttles backwards in a bid to catch the bird.

This proves unsuccessful with the pigeon moving a few metres further away every time the cat gets too close.

When the cat is eventually able to turn around, he once again attempts to leap on the bird but again he is too quick for the frustrated feline.

The video was uploaded onto Youtube on Friday and within just three days has already seen over 250,000 people watch it.
