Woman, 38, had affair with boy, 14

A 38-year-old woman with a drink problem who had an affair with a boy of 14, was put on probation and given a nine-month suspended jail sentence yesterday.

Susan Nolan, of Wallsend, North Tyneside, had a six-month fling with the boy after splitting up with her husband, Newcastle Crown Court was told. The boy's family claim the affair turned him from a normal teenager into a drinker and drug user involved in crime. Nolan admitted indecent assault and common assault.
