A woman was charged last night with the arson murders of a mother and her two young daughters. She was arrested on Wednesday morning on the Gurnos housing estate, Merthyr Tydfil, Mid-Glamorgan, where Diane Jones, 21, and her children Shauna, two, and Sara Jane, 18 months, were killed in a house fire last October.

Three people who were also arrested on Wednesday have now been released without charge, said South Wales Police. The woman will appear at Caerphilly Magistrates' Court today.
