Azeri forces shot down an Armenian helicopter in the region of Shaumian, north-west of Nagorny Karabakh, in Azerbaijan, killing all 12 on board, AFP reports from Yerevan.

Serge Sarkissian, leader of the Karabakh Self-Defence Committee, said the helicopter was evacuating wounded Armenian fighters from the region.
