Hundreds marched to demand the release of the detained Nigerian opposition leader, Moshood Abiola, Reuter reports from Lagos.
Earlier it was reported that Mr Abiola, a millionaire businessman who defied Nigeria's military rulers by proclaiming himself president, was arrested and was being questioned at an undisclosed location, Mr Abiola, who is widely believed to have won last year's annulled presidential election, was held after addressing a rally in Lagos on Wednesday.
