The EU election observer mission in Senegal yesterday urged the country's top legal body to explain publicly why it accepted some presidential bids and rejected others, such as that of world music star Youssou N'Dour.
The Constitutional Council on Friday validated the candidacy of President Abdoulaye Wade and 13 of his rivals for the February vote, but turned down Mr N'Dour's bid, sparking violent protests at the end of last week.
