A honeymooning couple have escaped an attack by a great white shark in South Africa.

The terrifying footage was filmed in ‘Shark Alley’ in Gansbaai, a shallow channel located between the two islands Dyer Island and Geyser Rock.

The channel is aptly named due to the sheer amount of seals that feed in the area is a constant food source for sharks

These thrill seekers were able to see the predatory nature of a great white shark up-close and personal.

In scenes reminiscent of Jaws, the shark appears from out of nowhere, lunges at the cage and wraps its teeth around the rope attachment.

The shark misses the cage-divers by just a few inches but their reaction suggests they were never worried about the experience.
