The death sentences for the 21 men found guilty of participating in the Port Said stadium disaster in February last year caused jubilation among fans of Cairo's al-Ahly club, whose fans made up most of the dead.

But in Port Said, where the condemned men mostly come from, riots have broken out, killing at least 22.
