A bomb exploded in a busy shopping district in Benghazi, Libya's second largest city, yesterday, killing the driver of a car who was carrying the device, a security spokesman said.
Benghazi has been hit by several bombings this year and attacks on international convoys and organisations including the British and US missions and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Libyan government is struggling to control myriad armed individuals and militias that gained power during the conflict that ousted Muammar Gaddafi last year.
