Mali: Al-Qa'ida kills tourist and abducts three others
Gunmen have kidnapped three foreign tourists and killed a fourth in Timbuktu in Mali.
The kidnappers burst into a restaurant and grabbed the tourists, believed to be German, Dutch, Swedish and South African, who were dining there. The German was killed when he resisted.
Two French citizens were also kidnapped from Hombori in Mali last week. The Foreign Office warned against travel to northern Mali because of the risk of attacks by a local al-Qa'ida group.
