Workers and grieving families attended a memorial service yesterday at the Lonmin platinum mine to mark the deaths of 34 strikers shot by police last week.

While South Africa held a national day of mourning, President Jacob Zuma said the actions of the mining company, the government, police, unions, and individuals will be examined by an official inquiry.
