Satellite images 'reveal war crimes' in Sudan
Satellite images provide evidence that Northern Sudanese troops have committed war crimes, including ethnic cleansing, in the contested border town of Abyei where the forces took over more than a week ago, an advocacy group said yesterday.
Satellite Sentinel Project said the images showed that Sudan Armed Forces burned about one-third of civilian buildings in the town. The charity Save the Children has estimated the new wave of conflict has displaced up to 35,000 children in the contested border region.
