This is the moment a group of curious teenagers picked up a GoPro after it had fallen nearly 1000 metres from the helmet of South African skydiver Luke Godfrey.

Godfrey was skydiving above Robertson in the Western Cape on Saturday when his parachute malfunctioned and strong winds blew him off course.

Despite falling nearly a kilometre, the camera miraculously landed undamaged on a rugby field.

Within minutes it is picked up by a group of local teenagers, who can be seen laughing as they film themselves laughing and joking as they play with the camera.

Godfrey called the police when he reached solid ground and five hours later they were able to track the boys down.

After paying a reward, Godfrey was reunited with his camera and able to upload the incredible video onto YouTube.
