NEW YORK (Reuter) - A San Francisco-bound TWA Lockheed TriStar jet caught fire on take-off yesterday at John F Kennedy Airport, injuring five people, officials said.

'It is still burning,' a Port Authority spokesman said, calling it 'miraculous' that more people were not injured on board the fully loaded aircraft. A police spokeswoman said the aircraft was being evacuated, and the cause of the fire was not yet known.
