Algerian troops have killed more than 400 Islamic fundamentalists in the past month as the government has toughened its crackdown on armed Muslim groups, AFP reports from Algiers. Hundreds have also been arrested in daily neighbourhood sweeps. On the government side, 15 members of the security forces have been killed.
