At least 20 people have been killed in a Venezuelan prison riot after two groups of inmates battled for control of the site.
The violence erupted on Sunday night at Yare I prison south of Caracas, but the government has provided neither details on how the riot started nor a specific death toll.
The watchdog, Venezuelan Prisons Observatory, claims 560 prisoners and guards were killed last year, with inmates often managing to obtain weapons and drugs with the help of corrupt guards.
